TO THE ENGINEER:

Professional Development:

Engineering Contract Services is providing a unique engineering program of continuing education in practical stress analysis for aerospace design engineers. Our program is specifically developed for aerospace design engineers who desire the opportunity to significantly improve their professional capabilities through the scientific application of aircraft stress analysis to the solution of “real world” structural engineering problems—the same practical experience industry professionals in this field have learned.
Practical Stress Analysis Seminars will provide the industry practicing design engineer with a strong development in technical fundamentals and years of practical engineering experience necessary to effectively select and evaluate the best of alternative engineering designs.  This diversified and broadened background is the means by which you, the engineer, can enhance your ability to develop innovative ideas, to generate new concepts and approaches, and to bring about new and improved technological advances in aircraft design.  The special training you receive (which is based on 52½ classroom hours of instruction) will immediately strengthen your contribution to your company and thereby increase your opportunities for advancement, increased job security, and realized independence from which your career objectives as an aerospace design engineer can be more easily attained.

Progressive Seminars:

Our seminars differ from the traditional treatment of stress analysis by placing more emphasis on technical fundamentals and giving less treatment to the theoretical and derivative aspects of the subject. Wherever possible, rather than using higher mathematics, calculating complicated formulas, or spending hours on tedious derivations, primary emphasis will be placed on the following: (1) structural methods and procedures, (2) application of stress formulas, (3) approximate sizing techniques, and (4) good detail design concepts and approaches.  This practical and progressive approach to stress analysis will be applied to the solution of structural engineering problems—the same methods and procedures which would be used in actual on-the-job stress analysis solutions by industry experts in this field.
Our Seminars are presented from the engineering textbook Practical Stress Analysis for Design Engineers, authored by Jean-Claude Flabel.  This comprehensive reference book, arranged in an exemplary format, will allow you the flexibility to quickly and more accurately formulate the best possible decisions to complex engineering solutions. In addition, the problem solutions contained in this manual can be used as standards of comparison against which to check the analysis of other similar and related structural types most often encountered in actual engineering aircraft designs. This book is intended to develop your ability to make intelligent decisions on a well-informed basis, to analyzed and study the structural behavior of new and existing designs, and to achieve independent thought through a responsive extension of an effective continuing education program.  Homework assignments will be assigned after each class session to fully illustrate the theoretical and practical applications of the lecture material.
